When you're in this mode it is more difficult to achieve that optimal state of being. Read through the signs below and if any apply contact Colleen to get on track!
7 CLEAR signs you are living in survival mode:
👉🏼 Everything feels urgent: every phone call, email, text, task, conversation + deadline must be addressed immediately.
👉🏼 Your sleep is disrupted: trouble falling asleep/ staying sleep or wake up not feeling refreshed.
👉🏼 Small things set you off: you become upset, angry, annoyed, tense or triggered in some way very easily.
👉🏼 You’re always tired: you feel lethargic + sluggish.
👉🏼 Feelings of anxiousness: you find it difficult to relax + be in the moment.
👉🏼 Poor memory/focus: you struggle to focus for long periods of time.
👉🏼 Everything is a reaction: you react on your emotions before thinking. You may overreact + say things you don’t mean.
👉🏼 Constant fear/worry: the feeling that something bad is going to happen or always thinking worst-case scenario.
Do one or more of these signs hit home?
First, I want you know that there is nothing wrong or broken about you.
You are simply a human being. Your body + mind were hardwired to help you survive and It’s this very survival mechanism that has allowed our species to adapt and evolve for centuries.
Here’s where things get tricky…
This same mechanism is why your body and your mind remembers every past emotion, heartache and trauma. To make matters more complicated, your mind is continuously scanning and judging your environment for any future threats or danger in order to keep you safe.
And since you’ve never been taught how to control it, your fight-or-flight mechanism has most likely been running on autopilot – causing you to always be on high alert. Therefore, your sense of urgency, emotional reactions, anxiety, worry, lethargy, etc. is just FEEDBACK letting you know it’s time to get out of survival mode.
It's an indicator that you must learn to think, speak and act in new ways.
You have to BECOME someone different b/c as long as you stay the same person, you will keep producing the same results. And this is exactly what I help you do.
