Yudelka Tavera
Yudelka Tavera is an artist, art director and educator raised in New York City. Originally from the Dominican Republic, her talent and passion for the arts became evident as a small child. She began her artistic journey at the young age of 5 when she took her first painting course alongside her mother. Once in New York, she attended Art and Design High School and then continued to get her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the State University of New York at Albany. At the age of 20 she moved to Florence, Italy to learn printmaking from Marsha Steinberg and to further pursue an art career. In 2005 she relocated to Miami's Design District and has been in Florida ever since. A strong advocate for all things art and multicultural impacting today’s youth and education, Yudelka now currently resides in Fort Lauderdale and works as a freelance artist, youth mentor, art teacher and consultant in both Broward and Dade Counties.
